La Serra
Nestled in the green La Garrotxa mountains, our off-grid base camp covers
26 hectares of oak, strawberry tree, and pine forest.
Mel (she/they) and Mendi ( they/she) build their house from sustainable materials
like hemp, wood, and adobe. They rely on solar power for electricity and are chopping lots of wood for warmth during winter.
With support from her queer family in Amsterdam, Mendi started Queering the Pathway in 2024, to create a space where
LGBTQIA+ people can explore ways to care
for themselves, their community, and the our environment all while being in nature.
We organise local activities, nature based camps and local+ international youth work.

Youth Activities
Approx every 3 months our local youth group, that exists out of trans and queer kids aged 12 - 20 years old, gather for a weekend of pyjama party fun and peer support at our basecamp.
They come from all over Catalunya and we are honoured that we can help facilitate in creating their own "chosen family".
Yearly we organise European youth exchanges with our partners in crime from Austria, The Netherlands and Italy.
In that way we aim to provide a long term, sustainable, local and international family where they feel uplifted, celebrated, and can grow and support each other.

Camps
At Queering the Pathway we provide the LGBTQIA+ community access to safe outdoor experiences.
These adventures support individuals that are new to the outdoors as well as those seeking community in adventure.
The camps are neuroqueer affirming and we try to be flexible with individual needs.
Our camps include day trips to explore Catalunya’s diverse landscapes, returning each evening to our forest farm for meals, rest and time to slow down, enjoy solitude or be social.
Sometimes we organise a camp in which we go out into the pyrenees for a multiple day trekking adventure.
